The Perthshire uncle and cousin of three Scots brothers currently on a rowing odyssey across the Pacific completed their own challenge on the Tay.
Jamie Maclean (67) of Tibbermore, and his 28-year-old daughter Mollie rowed from Perth railway bridge to Dundee’s Tay Rail Bridge, a distance of 25 miles in three hours and 45 minutes.
Former PRI paediatric orthopaedic consultant Jamie, who retired six weeks ago, has been a rower for decades.
His nephews Ewan, Jamie and Lachlan - who departed Peru in April – are expecting to reach Cairns, Australia, today (Friday) - a distance of more than 9000 miles.
Like their Edinburgh relatives, Jamie and doctor Mollie, who has just returned from Australia, were raising money for the Feedback Madagascar charity. So far they have raised £2900.
