The Ketchum Fire District commissioners and Ketchum City Council have agreed to a memorandum of understanding guiding the full transfer of Ketchum fire services from city management to the newly formed Fire District.
Council members passed the agreement 2-1 on Aug. 18, and the commissioners unanimously approved the agreement on Aug. 21.
The agreement outlines and coordinates the transfer of start-up funding, as well as city fire assets and personnel, to the Fire District.
“This MOU really just lays out our key coordination points in order to have, as of Oct. 1, the Ketchum Fire Department fully becoming the Ketchum Fire District on its own,” said Jade Riley, Ketchum’s city administrator.
