On Tuesday, the Blaine County commissioners unanimously approved a roughly $40.6 million fiscal 2026 county budget.
The county’s fiscal 2026 budget is about 2.1% larger than the budget approved for fiscal 2025 and includes $4.7 million in carryover funds from last year.
The county’s general fund, which supports its day-to-day operations, is set at roughly $24.6 million. The next biggest piece of the budget pie is roughly $3.9 million for the road and bridge fund, followed by roughly $3.8 million for the solid waste fund.
The budget is supported by a mixture of revenue from property taxes, county services, licenses, permits and other sources. Property taxes generate the largest chunk of revenue, roughly $14.4 million.
The budget includes an allowed 3% annual increase in property taxes
