MOUNT VERNON, New York (WABC) -- Shots were fired during a police pursuit after the armed robbery of a gas station worker in Mount Vernon Friday morning.

It happened at a gas station near the Metro-North Railroad around 5:30 a.m.

NewsCopter 7 was flying over the scene where there was a large police response.

The gas station worker said that the suspects put a gun to his head and demanded his money. They got away with at least $600.

Surveillance video obtained by Eyewitness News shows the employee was in the booth at the gas station. He decided to move over to a stool by the building to sit for a bit when he was approached by the suspects.
