The iconic Big Hitch, a chain of six authentic 19th-century ore wagons, rounds the corner of Sun Valley Road and Main Street, pulled by a team of mules, during a previous Wagon Days celebration. The Big Hitch in this year’s Wagon Days parade, which will kick off Saturday at 1 p.m., will be pulled by a team of 20 draft horses. To learn more about Ketchum’s beloved annual Wagon Days festivities, which celebrate the town’s frontier history and include one of the largest nonmotorized parades in the Pacific Northwest, grab a copy of the Express’ annual Wagon Days special section from newsstands across town.
