Traffic is being held on the M2 due to a "serious collision". It has happened on the west-bound carriageway between junction 6 for Faversham and junction 5 for Sittingbourne , Sheppey and Maidstone (Stockbury Roundabout).
There are around five miles of congestion on the motorway as a result, and delays of more than 60 minutes, according to National Highways. Traffic monitoring site Inrix first reported congestion on the motorway at around 9am.
In its latest update at 11.47am, it says: "All traffic being temporarily held and long delays due to accident on M2 westbound between J6 A251 Ashford Road (Faversham) and J5 A249 (Sittingbourne/Stockbury Roundabout). Traffic held due to three-vehicle accident."
