The UK could bask in an Indian Summer and a September heatwave with reports of a 26C heat blast on September 8. But maps and charts, from WX Charts, based on Met Desk data, show everywhere north of London could miss out.

While the south east, south west and all of Wales looks set to benefit in temperatures around 26C - hotter than Europe- not everywhere will experience the heat.

Parts of the country set to miss out include the West Midlands, Warwickshire , Hertfordshire, Herefordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northants, Leicestershire and Derbyshire, as well as Rutland, Lincolnshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire , Worcestershire , Nottinghamshire.
