For the second year in a row, the Sun Valley Community School Cutthroats and Carey Panthers went five sets in their season-opening Idaho high school volleyball match as Carey prevailed 25-22, 22-25, 25-18, 21-25, 16-14 on Tuesday at Carey High School.
“We love volleyball and like to make it exciting,” said Panthers head coach Teresa Smith.
Despite the close loss, Cutthroats head coach Natalie Heurkins came away encouraged with the attitude and fight the team showed throughout the ebbs and flows of the game.
“Even though we’d be down at times, the girls played together and kept fighting, supporting each other and smiling,” she said.
