MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphians are set to celebrate 901 Day with a political summit, award show, and roast with local leaders.

Taking place over most the day on September 1, which is also Labor Day this year, the first 901 Day Summit & Celebration will feature a series of events at the Cadre Building at 149 Monroe Avenue.

The lineup will include civic dialogue, community awards, and comedy.

Starting at 9:01 Monday morning, the Civic Summit will kick off the event, with local leaders moderating panels on Memphis' future. Mayoral candidate Mickell Lowery will deliver the keynote address, while former MSCS Superintendent Dr. Marie Feagins will hold a policy discussion with people who have announced campaigns for Commissioner seats.
