TROY, Ala. (WDHN) - The Troy Animal Rescue Project found over 2 dozen dogs in unlivable conditions in the middle of the woods, according to the project's Facebook page.
TARP officials said they found 26 dogs emaciated with no food or water, and chained up.
TARP rescuers even found empty dog houses, abandoned collars and decomposed dogs, who did not survive the conditons.
In their Facebook post, TARP officials said, "the saddest part is, they hold no grudge. Tails wagging. Yipping with excitement. Loving the attention. No growls or biting. Just wanting for love."
TARP officials said they recently wrapped their hoarding case, where they found 100 dogs and 20 cats in a trailer, alone.
