WASHINGTON COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) - A Washington County school teacher is behind bars tonight, charged with having sex with students.

Washington County Sheriff's investigator arrested 31-year-old Joshua Donald Myers today.

Myers is a teacher and coach at Vernon High School.

Authorities say he began having sexual relations with two 2-students in December 2021, when they were both 16 years old.

The alleged encounters took place at Myers' homes and continued until December 2022.

Sheriff's investigators learned about the accusations yesterday, questioned Myers, and then received an arrest warrant today.

Myers is in the Washington County jail, charged with lewd and lascivious battery, and two counts each of lewd & lascivious molestation, and offences against students by an authority figure.
