An urgent search has been launched following the 'out of character' disappearance of a Cambuslang woman.

Lesley Allen was last seen at around 11.30pm on Thursday, August 28, in the Langlea area. The 55-year-old hasn't contacted her family since.

It is not currently known where she intended to go, but officers say she regularly uses the rail network to visit Edinburgh and Girvan. Concerns are now growing for the missing woman and police are asking anyone who has information to get in touch.

Lesley is described as 5ft 3in tall, of medium build, with shoulder length auburn hair.
