The body of a 38-year-old Minnesota man who went missing on a mountain climbing trip in Wyoming has been recovered days after authorities called off the search for him.
Grant Gardner, of Lakeville, went missing during a solo three-day trek through the Misty Moon Lake area.
He last spoke to his wife via text on July 29 at around 7 p.m. after he summited the 13,000-foot Cloud Peak. He was reported missing when he failed to arrive at his destination on Aug. 1.
Last week, the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office announced that it had ended the search for Gardner, stating its team had "exhausted all resources and personnel over the last 20 days."
Sheriff Ken Blackburn added that the "most optimistic survival odds have run out."
