CANTON, N.Y. (WWTI) - An inmate at the St. Lawrence County Jail is facing felony charges for allegedly contacting a protected party while in jail.
According to the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, 32-year-old William Watson allegedly contacted a person from the St. Lawrence County Jail in July and August.
This allegedly violated an order of protection. Due to a previous conviction for second-degree criminal contempt, the charges were elevated to two felony counts of first-degree criminal contempt.
Watson was arraigned in the Canton Town Court and returned to the county jail.
