A suspect wanted for kidnapping was arrested Friday after leading police on a chase that began in Orange County and ended in Boyle Heights.
The pursuit traversed multiple freeways, beginning on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Orange County in Newport Beach, according to ABC7 and soon extended into Los Angeles County, with the man switching to the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway and soon the Santa Ana (5) Freeway, according to reports from the scene.
California Highway Patrol officers deployed a spike strip near the transition from between the Long Beach (710) and 5 freeways, damaging one of the vehicle’s tires. The suspect then stopped on the Hollywood (101) Freeway near First Street in Boyle Heights and ran away, CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.
