SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Springfield Public Works reports storm debris pickup in Zone 1 is nearing completion, with a small number of residences left to sweep.

Residents in Zone 1 with storm debris piles still at the curb since August 11 should call the Citizen Resource Center at 864-1010 to report.

An estimated 18,364 cubic tons of debris have been collected since sweeps began on Aug. 11. Public Works estimates 70% of Zone 3 debris has been picked up, while the City’s tree management contractor has addressed about 5% of Zone 2.

Debris pickup sweeps will begin in Zone 4 on Tuesday, Sept. 2, due to the Labor Day holiday. Zone 4 residents are reminded to move all storm debris to the street by 7 a.m. in preparation for pickup.
