A man has been charged with attempted murder after an alleged knife attack in Coventry . Police were called to Robin Hood Road on Saturday (August 23).

Officers were called to Willenhall Social Club at around 7.20pm on Saturday after reports of a man in his 60s being attacked. He was found with serious head and neck injuries.

Marlon Martin, 34, was arrested and subsequently charged. He has been accused of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article and remanded to appear before Coventry Magistrates' Court today (August 29).

Police are investigating the events leading up to the attack and have urged people to contact them by calling 101. Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers.
