CARTER COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A dump truck driver was injured and gravel spilled onto a Carter County road after a crash Friday morning, the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) reports.
According to a preliminary crash report from the THP, a dump truck hauling rock and gravel was heading north on Piney Flats Road shortly before 8 a.m.
An animal got on the road, causing the dump truck driver to swerve in an attempt to avoid hitting it, the THP reports.
The truck ran off the right side of the road and entered a ditch. According to the highway patrol, the dump truck overcorrected and got back on the road, overturning and spilling its load of gravel.
The driver of the dump truck was listed as injured in the report.
