ALLEN PARK -- Despite the Detroit Lions’ recent success under the current regime, the franchise continues to face criticism from fans and media alike -- both locally and nationally.
Some critiques center on perceived hesitancy in the free agency and trade markets, or an overreliance on homegrown players. But the most persistent question is the team’s willingness to add injured players.
When asked about that approach on Thursday, general manager Brad Holmes defended the philosophy.
“I think it’s all case by case. It depends on what the injury is,” Holmes said. “But just the player having an injury usually doesn’t determine it. I mean, we traded up in the first round to get Jameson Williams coming off an ACL.”
