ASHEVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - The National Park Service reports a landslide repair project has been completed, which restores access to over 85 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The reopened miles span from milepost 382 in Asheville to milepost 469 near Cherokee, NC. The repair project was located at milepost 422 near Devil’s Courthouse.

The National Park Service said restoring road access is being prioritized through a phased system to provide both public access to newly opened areas as soon as possible and access to previously unreachable areas by contractors.

Visitors should still plan carefully for any trip along the Parkway, including consulting the park’s website for current road status, multiple regional maps and other helpful information.
