ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Elmira College welcomed its incoming Class of 2029 this week, marking one of the largest groups of new students on campus in the last ten years.

The college says 293 students are beginning their academic journey this fall, with final enrollment numbers expected in the coming weeks. The majority of students will live on campus, though the number of commuter students continues to grow.

Move-in day came with excitement, and some nerves for students getting settled into their new home away from home.

“I’m really nervous. I’m going to miss my mom and my dog a lot, but I’m excited because I just want to get a full swing,” said first-year student Annalise Geisinger.
