STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. (WENY) -- A 51 year-old man from Steuben County was convicted of six counts of rape and six counts of coercion by a jury on Thursday, August 28th. That's according to Steuben County District Attorney Brooks Baker, who said that Matthew Kapp of Howard was found guilty after a jury deliberated for eight hours.
“This was a difficult case for everyone involved, the victim showed tremendous strength in coming forward and going forward. The proof at trial demonstrated the defendant engaged in a pattern of violent and controlling behavior that allowed this conduct to go unchecked for years – the conduct here was truly disturbing.
