Police used extra powers to disperse 24 people officers they reported seeing antisocial behaviour at a community event in Broadstairs. On Wednesday (August 27) evening, officers were on patrol when they became aware of a group of young people causing a disturbance in the Harbour Street area.
Police said that, due to many being underage, alcohol was seized from the group and disposed of. Using the additional powers of a dispersal order which was already in place, police identified those who were causing issues and formally ordered them to leave the area immediately.
Their details were taken and warned that anyone who was found in the town after being told to leave would be arrested. The 48-hour dispersal was brought in at 4pm that day, and will be in place until today (Friday).
