DALLAS — A Dallas police officer was arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge Friday, the department confirmed.
Dallas Police Officer Thomas Fury was arrested by the Terrell Police Department on a misdemeanor charge of assault bodily injury -- family violence, police say.
Fury was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation, according to a news release.
The Terrell Police Department says officers were called shortly after midnight regarding a disturbance in the 100 block of Clear Creek Lane and arrested two people. Both were taken to the Terrell Police Jail to await transport to the Kaufman County Jail.
Fury has worked for the department since May 2019 and is assigned to the Southeast Patrol Division, a news release stated.
