A Bell County grand jury this week handed down an indictment against a Temple man who is accused of hitting a jailer who had been attempting to put him into a restraint chair.
On Wednesday, Payton Adrien Juarez, 23, was indicted on a third-degree felony charge of assault of a public servant. Juarez was booked into the Bell County Jail on May 24, and was being held on Thursday with a bond of $35,000, listed.
On May 23, a jailer at the Killeen City Jail, which is located at KPD headquarters, was on duty when Juarez, who was in custody there, allegedly began “banging and kicking his cell door,” according to an arrest affidavit.
“(The jailer) needed to place Juarez into a restraint chair due to this disturbance causing other inmates join in the disturbance,” police said. “(The jailer) state
