CLAREMONT, the Bronx (PIX11) --- A 23-year-old woman was slashed in the back of the head after refusing to talk to a stranger on a Bronx street last month, police said Friday.

The suspect tried to talk to the woman, but when she walked away, he allegedly attacked her near Fulton Avenue and Claremont Parkway at around 12:35 a.m. on July 19, according to the NYPD.

The woman was cut on the back of the head and taken to the hospital to be treated for a laceration, cops said.

The suspect then fled and remained at large as of Friday, police said.

The man was last seen wearing a black sweater, gray pants, and green sneakers.
