It’s almost time for students to get back to the books as summer unofficially comes to a bitter-sweet end after the Labour Day long weekend and the new school year begins.

Shannon Mason, principal at St. Leo Catholic School in Brantford, was in her office on Friday getting organized for the students’ return on Tuesday. Teachers have been in and out of the school over the last couple weeks getting their classrooms ship shape.

It’s a time of mixed emotions, said Mason.

“There’s some anxiety because there’s so much to do,” she said. “But we’re always excited to see the students again.”
