More road construction has begun in Sarnia.

GIP Paving Inc. recently started removing curbs on sections of Confederation Street and Indian Road, for a $1.2-million resurfacing contract that also includes curb, catch basin and maintenance hole repairs, said Matt Deline, public works manager with the County of Lambton.

The work, between Sutton Street and Murphy Road on Confederation Street, and between Campbell Street and Kathleen Avenue on Indian Road, is expected to continue, with lane closures, until late October, weather permitting, he said.

Through traffic is permitted, businesses will remain open, and some of the work will be completed overnight to help reduce disruptions, he said, noting a noise bylaw exemption was obtained from Sarnia, for overnight work on the
