Australian flag carrier, Qantas , will debut its new Airbus A321XLR aircraft on routes from Sydney and Melbourne, and Sydney and Perth by mid-September, signalling a new era for the red-tailed airline. The extended range of these airplanes, which can reach 5,400 miles (8,700 kilometers), is more than 1,860 miles (3,000 kilometers) longer than the Boeing 737 , and will open doors for the airline to launch new international routes to the Pacific Islands and Southeast Asia.
