CLEVELAND, Ohio — Revere’s high school football home game Friday night vs. Akron Garfield has been canceled, the school announced Thursday with a press release.
While the announcement did not say why the schools will not play, a Facebook post by the Revere Local Schools account stated its football team had two confirmed cases of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD), and that Garfield opted not to play the Minutemen.
“We know how much our community looks forward to supporting our student-athletes each week and we apologize for the inconvenience,” Revere athletic director Don Seeker and principal Doug Faris said in a statement. “We are working to reschedule the Hall of Fame event and Revere Youth Night for a date later in the football season.”
