FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Two of three people linked to a September 2023 robbery-turned-homicide were sentenced Friday.

A judge in Allen Superior Court handed Royal Davis, who faced over a century in prison, 77 years. Robert Ward was handed 10 years in prison with two of those years suspended.

Travis Gilbert, 28, was found dead from gunshot wounds on Sept. 15, 2023 at a home on St. Marys Avenue. The homicide started as a faux drug deal, according to court documents in the case.

Ward, Davis and a woman named Jessica Fuentes were allegedly looking to buy methamphetamine and used Ward to set up a deal between them and Gilbert, according to Allen Superior Court documents.
