WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - The final downtown ‘block party’ of the year is underway.

The event got started at 5 PM.

Crews spent this afternoon setting the stage and getting a portion of Public Square party-ready.

The last block party of the summer includes bounce houses, local vendors, food trucks, a dunk tank for charity, and a slew of live music.

Music acts include Strictly Hip and The Northmen.

Organizers say it’s been one of the most successful summers for block parties so far.

“It’s gone off with a bang. We’ve had one of the busiest summers we’ve ever had. We’ve had a lot of vendors, we’ve had a lot of musical acts, and it’s great to see the community come out and support what we’re trying to do,” said Gregory Stickel, a Downtown Block Party Committee member.
