ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The University of Georgia announced Thursday that the Chapel Bell is being repaired and won’t be available to ring if the Bulldogs beat Marshall on Saturday night.
The area will be closed off, making photo opportunities a challenge.
“We know how meaningful the Chapel Bell is to our community, and we are working to complete these repairs quickly so everyone can safely take part in this cherished tradition again soon‚“ the school’s announcement said.
Pulling the long rope that rings the bell on the back side of the UGA Chapel after Georgia victories is one of the school’s most cherished traditions.
There is no timeline on when the repairs will be finished.
