FINCASTLE, Va. (WDBJ) - One week ago, a James River High School senior died after accidentally shooting himself.
His name was Sawyer Haymaker; a history buff, a welder, and an outdoorsman whose family will miss him dearly.
WDBJ7’s Kaira Willis sat down with his family, to learn more about the person who touched all of the lives around him with his fun-loving spirit.
“Since the day Sawyer Haymaker was born, he had a charisma and a lust for life,” said Sawyer’s cousin, Matt Garten.
Sawyer Haymaker’s cousins, Dizzy and Matt Garten took on more of an uncle role for the energetic 18-year-old.
They describe him as an all-around teenage boy, who loved spending his free time with friends and family.
