Businesses along Hay Street in West Perth are bracing themselves for major road and intersection works in the final stage of the City of Perth’s two-way conversion project between Elder and Thomas streets.
Some businesses along the strip have welcomed the works and believe their situation may not be as dire compared to other areas in Perth.
Christian Watters, owner of Jaffle Shack, Gather on Hay and Cavania on the corner of Colin and Hay streets in West Perth, said he welcomed the works and their long-term benefits — as long as they didn’t take longer than needed.
“Our overall opinion on two-way is that it’s a good thing, because at the moment we’re just a rat-run,” he said.
