GADSDEN, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A new program in Gadsden is now being introduced to help senior citizens with their grocery shopping.

The city’s transit services system says they are “thrilled” to introduce their new ‘Senior-Shopping Program’, which is designed to make grocery shopping easier, more convenient, and stress free.

The program, that will be held on Saturday’s only except for city observed holidays, is for seniors aged 60 and over.

The city says the transit service offers pick-up from your residence, drop-off at a designated location at the grocery store, and a return trip pick-up at the designated location.

Officials say space is limited and that rides are based on a first-come, first-serve basis.
