LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Louisville judge who granted shock probation to a man now accused in a violent kidnapping-turned bank robbery has recused herself from his case.
Armond Langford is facing assault, kidnapping and robbery charges after police say he held a mother and her two children at knife point on Aug. 8 before forcing the woman to drive to a PNC Bank, which he robbed.
Langford had been released on early probation . He had pleaded guilty to a string of robberies in 2021 but was let out after almost three years in some of kind of custody and five months in state custody by July of 2024. Langford was already eligible for parole at that time, and was released due to his diagnosis with a “severe mental illness” as well as his glowing report from his probation officer.
