ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Black Business Month Exhibition was held on Friday at Civic Plaza in celebration of August being a time to support and lift up black businesses. The City of Albuquerque's Office of Black Community Engagement is working to close the racial wealth gap by promoting reinvestment and acknowledging these spaces as hubs of culture, stability, and innovation.
"Black Business Month is celebrated nationally, and today in Albuquerque, we're acknowledging the philanthropy and the industrious nature of black business," said Neema Pickett, Office of Black Community Engagement Liaison.
The exhibition included vendors, music, yoga, professional speakers, business accelerator programs, and food trucks.
