HandyDART users in the Comox Valley will now be able to use the service on statutory holidays, the B.C. government announced on Friday.

The change is effective Sept. 1, which is Labour Day and is also being implemented in Fort St. John and Kamloops.

“Expanding handyDART service to include statutory holidays is an important step in making transit more accessible and reliable for people who depend on the service in the Comox Valley,” said George Anderson, parliamentary secretary for transit.

“This expansion reflects our commitment to building inclusive communities and ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, can get to where they need to go, when they need to.”
