FLINT, MI -- History has a way of repeating itself.
And photos showcase that time and again.
In some instances, it feels more than familiar.
For Flint native Spencer Irvin, he was able to walk — or trot — in his father Paul Irvin’s shoes.
After Paul, born and raised in Flint, ran the 10-mile Crim road race in 1992 at an eight-mile a minute pace, he joined his son Spencer, then 2 years old, for the Teddy Bear Trot in downtown Flint.
It was the same year Flint Journal photojournalist Jennifer Giesey captured a photo of Spencer sprinted toward the finish line, with his dad in tow.
The photo became an iconic core memory for the family.
