HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -- The purple flags lining State Street honor those who died from overdoses.

So many people spoke Friday afternoon, hoping their story would inspire someone else.

"That could easily be my face on one of these posters," Jessica Osborn said, and every day she is grateful it's not. Osborn said she's been sober since 2016.

Osborn's friend Jessica Paden is also on the path to recovery, "I started my journey in July of 2019," Paden said.

Both Osborn and Paden were standing on the steps of the Pennsylvania State Capitol for those who can't.

"We never want to forget," Osborn said.

They want to remember the 14 Pennsylvanians who die every day from an overdose. Lisa Sokoloff's son is one. He died from carfentanil poisoning in 2018.
