CHRISNEY, Ind. (WFIE) - It’s been a project four years in the making, and on September 6, the Isaiah 117 House in Spencer County will hold its official ribbon cutting.

Before that, Location Leader Hanna Bettag allowed 14 News to do a walkthrough of the newly-finished home while learning more about the mission of Isaiah 117.

“It’s very child-led. So, they come in and they’re grabbing boxes off of the shelving here, and we’re just letting them roll,” says Bettag of the living room space immediately past the entrance.

“Child-led” is a core theme of the Isaiah 117 house.

From the boy and girl-themed bedrooms featuring trundle beds that can accommodate whole sibling sets at a time to their outdoor play areas, Bettag says they want the experience to be a positive one for the kids.
