MANISTEE – Both teams came into Thursday’s game undefeated, with only a season opening 1-1 tie with Leland marring North Muskegon’s record.

In the end, it was the Manistee Mariners who suffered their first loss after a pair of wins to start the season, as the Norsemen pulled away in the second half for a 5-0 shutout in the West Michigan Conference.
