Nature lovers had an opportunity to learn how to identify a variety of trees in the beautiful setting of the Ludington State Park on Friday, but this was smaller-scale to an event coming up at the park on Sept. 21, with an advanced three-hour workshop.

Upcoming: Becoming an Outdoor Woman — Tree ID and MeThe program, Becoming an Outdoor Woman — Tree ID and Me, takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sep. 21, at the Ludington State Park Warming Shelter at 8800 M-116, Ludington.

At this Becoming an Outdoors Woman clinic, registered participants will learn to identify Michigan’s native trees — enhancing their knowledge of the state’s ecology and local surroundings.
