MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A man accused of killing another man in Madison in 2023 was found guilty Friday night, according to online records.

Devonte Gafford was convicted of killing Devon Grant, 20, at a Madison Apartment complex in July 2023.

In March of 2023, Gafford was found guilty of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. The judge ruled a mistrial on the charges of first-degree intentional homicide as party to a crime and first-degree recklessly endangering safety as party to a crime.

After jury selection was complete Monday, the jury heard opening statements from both the state and the defense about what happened that day on July 13, 2023.
