SACRAMENTO, California — A federal grand jury has indicted 65-year-old Godofredo Cornejo, of Sacramento, on charges of receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material, U.S. Attorney Eric Grant announced. The indictment alleges Cornejo used a peer-to-peer software client known as Freenet to obtain video files depicting children in sexually explicit conduct.
In April 2023, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Cornejo’s residence, seizing electronic devices containing tens of thousands of additional explicit depictions of children, according to court documents. The investigation was conducted by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, stated the source.
