MINNEAPOLIS — "I'm scared of good guys with guns. I think a school is my best chance at not being shot at."

Those words, translated from a journal written by Annunciation Catholic Church shooter Robin Westman, provide for the first time specific information as to why the gunman wanted to carry out the horrific act there. In other journal entries, Westman contemplated mass shootings at Minneapolis coffee shops and breweries.

"Annunciation seems like a great choice. It's very progressive, so I doubt if any, even one of the adults is armed," Westman wrote in Cyrillic alphabet, which is being translated by a KARE 11 producer in residence fluent in Russian.

Westman goes on to write on July 18, "It helps that I went to that school so i know the layout. I don't think I really need to do that
