Motherwell boss Jens Berthel Askou played down the return of former manager Stuart Kettlewell with Kilmarnock as just another game. ‌

Askou reckons Kettlewell should be treated with respect on his Fir Park return, as should any former employee. ‌

Kettlewell took over from Stevie Hammell in February 2023, and stepped down in January of last year, citing fan abuse as a catalyst. ‌

Askou said: “I’ve heard that there have been things before my time here. For me, and I think it’s the same for Stuart, this is a game between Motherwell and Kilmarnock. There have been games in the Scottish Premiership for many years, and it’s just another one.

“Obviously, it’s maybe a little bit special for him to come back to a place that has meant a lot to him.
