Tributes have been paid to three teenage boys who died in a horror crash in the Highlands.

Fergus Ward, Lewis Knox and a third teen who has been named only as Jordan passed away following the accident on the A830 between Mallaig and Arisaig . Emergency crews were called to the scene following reports of a white Ford Fiesta having left the road at around 11.15pm on Thursday, August 28.

Ambulance crews attended but the driver and two passengers were tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The trio are all believed to be in their mid- teens .

The local community has been left shattered following the devastating news and tributes have been paid online. All three of the boys were keen sports players, with Fergus and Lewis regularly playing for Fort William Shinty Club .
