As post-secondary students get ready for the upcoming semester, support workers from all of Ontario's 24 colleges are preparing for a potential strike.
On Aug. 21, the bargaining team representing over 10,000 full-time college support workers, including librarians, bookstore and registrar employees, requested a no board report, a measure that puts workers in a legal strike position as early as Sept. 11.
The Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) and the College Employer Council (CEC) have been negotiating the contracts, which are set to expire on Sept. 1, since June.
